Raising children in this day and age is hard work. Parents are holding many other stressors such as finances, work stress, and personal issues that make dealing with our children's stress difficult. This can often put stress on our relationship with the other parent or partner, if we are raising children with another adult.
Much of the work I do with children is set within the context of work with the family. I focus on building relationships with each other in new ways and using the strengths within the family to build it up to be a supportive, functioning unit. This is also culturally-bound, and dependent on our own personal values and beliefs of what family is supposed to look like.
I have experience and work with families and parents of many different cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations, including LGBTQ* couples and nontraditional couples/relationship styles.
